Character Description: At an impressive 6'3'' feet, Kei could be a pretty face with his lovely amber eyes and blond hair. A shame that pretty face usually just makes asshole smirks.
Character AU History/Personality: The second son in an otherwise small family, Kei hit puberty early like most of his family before him: his older brother, his alpha mother, and all the people on her side of the family. It wasn't just height, however. It was him growing into an Omega.
In another life, perhaps this would have been a good thing. Tall, fairly good looking, and intelligent- that would have all been fine as an alpha and beta, even with Kei's occasionally sharp personality. As an omega, however? Now all of that only made him even more of a target, no matter his young age as his pheromones broke out, and his sharp personality only seemed to goad some people on. Some tried the "nice guy" approach, others went for blatant intimidation with oppressive alpha pheromones. Kei's older brother, Akiteru, did his best to protect him from the worst of it... But, knowing it would be worst if he just got into the habit of bowing his head deferringly, too stubborn and proud to do that kind of appeasement, Kei grew up with his own caustic personality taking his omega instincts out to the back of a Denny's to beat the shit out of it with a tire iron.
Perhaps his personality and omega nature have merged in strange ways despite this attempted mental murder. While Kei is more than capable of playing polite anddistant quiet, he's jut as able to easily say something sharp while smiling sweetly.
It was in his high school years that Kei started to really become disillusioned with life, however. He'd already resigned himself to low expectations. No matter how good he performed in sports, no matter how high his grades were, it seemed like everything would be overshadowed by his omega status. With two omega sons, his family wouldn't rise up particularly high. Yet the futility of it all only really seemed to hit him when his school counselor spoke to him about the future, and wouldn't stop talking about how difficult a time an omega would have in any of the colleges and wouldn't it be better if he found a good Alpha instead of doing risky thing like thinking of doing field science?
On some level, he feels like maybe it would be better to just quit where he is. No more low expectations- no expectations. He could probably fake a smile for a rich alpha, get hitched, hope they'd tolerate his interest in education to become a paleontologist, live a fake life where he could unleash any lingering frustrations on the internet, or something...
But he's still too stubborn and proud.
So he pushed himself to get out of high school early, argued with his older brother about going to live on his own, and found his way to the city. However, it's been aggravatingly difficult to find a job that would take an omega, especially at his age, especially that would pay well... Which is how he's found himself at the Red Lantern. On one hand, at least he's not hitching himself to just any old alpha that looks at him. On the other... Kei has no idea where his life is even going to go.
